The application form will ask you for the following information:

  3. Qualifications and content of degree

  4. School, college and university education

  5. Special needs or support

  6. Personal statement

  7. School/work experience

  8. References - these are essential before your application can be processed

In your application, you will need to demonstrate how you meet our person specification, as detailed in the 'entry requirements'.

The Selection Process and Interview

Inspire Professional Development shortlists candidates from the DfE Apply applications received and invites those candidates to an interview, to gain a place on the PGCE route.

The interview process at Inspire Professional Development consists of:

  • A 10-15 minute teaching activity with a small group of pupils

  • A handwritten task

  • A presentation

  • A formal interview

  • Maths and English competency tests

Successful candidates will be invited to attend a school-based meeting, to secure their host placement and to meet the Headteacher.

If you are successful at interview, a conditional offer of a place will be made and UCAS/DfE are notified. The conditions will include providing proof that you have met the eligibility conditions for Initial Teacher Training, including qualifications, reference checks, a full working history, an enhanced criminal record check (DBS), barred check list, teacher regulation check and an occupational health assessment. If you wish to join Inspire Professional Development, you must accept the offer on DfE Apply.
